| I just learned about this tonight from a man who was part of a winning team, It is totally "unofficial" the date is kept secret so the police don't arrest the runners. Here are the rules: A two person team starts near Schlenkerla with a case of 20 beers (all must be 5% alc or greater). They follow a course to the top of the Altenburg. There are check points along the way where beer can be consumed (with judges to certify it was drunk). The winning team is that which reaches the top of the Altenburg with a case of empty bottles. The rules bring up all sort of optimization problems -- I'm sure somebody could get a research project out of it. |
