Barnikel,worth the trip? opinions please

We were talking to a German bloke in the Schenkerla last year and he compared the place to Fawlty Towers(not sure N Americans will get this!). He said they go from Bamberg just to experience the rather eccentric service and atmosphere. So it sounds great!
