Brau-Beviale or Annafest

I've only been to the former once (thanks to TreinJan, and specifically that generous friend of his with the extra ticket!) and while it was a great experience for me, a homebrewer with exposure to the Oregon microbrewery scene, I'm not so sure it would be as good a draw for the average beer tourist as the Annafest would be. Except that it does occur during the start of Bockbierzeit, of course. What was especially great there was all the non-Franconian beer, a treat for the likes of me. With a year's planning, one ought to be able to find decent airfare for July-August. "Ought to."
