Have a look at howtobrew.com. Coopers are pretty good kits, in my experience. Just give the beer 5 or 6 weeks in the bottle to carbonate and for any off flavours to mellow out. I'm only an occasional home brewer, but I have never brewed a satisfactory lager at ambient house temperatures. I think you would need refrigeration for this. Or cut out a cave in a nearby hillside :)
