Vollbier color

Was it at the Gaststätte or Bierkeller? When you say "wood barrel", I assume you mean the standard aluminum kegs used for gravity pour (but painted to look like wood), like this: http://i53.tinypic.com/6ibgaw.jpg (Herr Witzgall at the Witzgall Keller with the Landbier.) I've never seen a real wood barrel used there--this would be worth seeking out! It is confusing: the "only" draught beer in the Gaststätte in the village is the filtered Vollbier, and the only beer at the Keller is the unfiltered Lager. And the bottled Landbier sold at the Gaststätte is the filtered version of the Lager. This reminds me, I should find out if there's any Festbier left up there and pick up some cases to share with others who might be interested.
