What is Kellerbier?

I don't know. What's their beer called? You can "nounify" a verb or adjective. http://www.mahrs.de/?id=86 shows that they call it "Ungespundet-hefetrüb", using quotation marks. They call it a Vollbier though, which of course just means it's a beer of normal or full strength, neither strong nor low-alcohol. Ha! Looking at their English webbie, they call it "Mahr's Braeu Farmers Beer "Ungespundet-hefetrüb"" They do say "ungespundet-hefetrüb" is the beer's name. But the bigger point is ungespundetes Bier describes how the beer was made, whereas Kellerbier doesn't really. It is more of a style of beer than 'a u' is. And then ratebeer.com, in their wisdom, call it a Kellerbier. D'oh! What did I say I think it is again? Right. "I think you could say it's a Kellerbier, just not a very good one." Or words to that effect. Now that I see they just call it a Vollbier, okay, I should cut them some slack. It's still too astringent for its hoppiness though, there are many other beers of similar color/gravity/conditioning that are better, but aren't so fawned over.
