| Likewise John, when I lived in Bath and Bristol. There was no shortage of real ale pubs (although rather dominated by my ex-employer, Courage), so we rarely went to the local Wetherspoon's, which were often very noisy and crowded. However, they can be a lifesaver - I remember being in Ayr for one night, 18 months ago, where finding real ale was going to be a real challenge. But, lo and behold, the first pub I came across was a Wetherspoon's and it was really appreciated. Mind you, again, I seemed to be the only person drinking ale! What I'd give for a Wetherspoon's in Kilrush - are you reading this Tim? |
