| As I said, the big room is fine if your with a party - but a party of 2, in a largely empty room, sharing a table with a couple who seemed intent on reacting a scene from the film of Tom Jones (you know, the one where Tom shares a meal with ? - can't recall her name without looking it up) was not my favourite Bamberg experience! I know the score about reserved tables and we have often shuffled ourselves about the place but this time it was different. We were simply bundled out and, sadly, my German is not really good enough to argue the toss. I don't why they didn't tap another barrel - in retrospect maybe it was 9.30 (the original posting is somewhere in the archive) but it wasn't a great experience. It's not just me (and I love Mahrs for the U and ambience), it is also the locals who get peed off with the situation, as we found out from a conversation with a group of them last year. |
