Snowing in West Clare

While the Great Freeze descends upon Europe and large bits of the central and eastern USA, we're making do with a balmy high of 9 deg C / 49 F in sunny (really!) Seattle. My only problem with half a dead pig is that it seems such a trifling small portion, unless it's just for a Brotzeit snack. The only other big news here is that bottled Schlenkerla Eiche and De Cam lambics have shown up as imports, and domestically, Deschutes has released new editions of the Dissident (sour ale in the western Flemish style, more or less) and the Abyss (imperial stout), and I finally got to sample some of Dogfish Head's Bitches Brew (imperial stout with Ethiopian honey and gesho root in. 'Tis the season and all that.
