Went to 'Das Wirthaus' on Rothenburger Strasse last night for afew beers only to find it very firmly shut up. There was a notice on the door that seemed to suggest that the pub has close after 14 years and thank you to everyone who had drunk there. It was chucking it down so I was not able to write down exactly what was said on the note. Now whether the whole chain has closed or not demands more investigation but I suspect they mave have gone under. The website is still up and running including the 'Wirthaus' entry so I'll dig a bit more and find out. On a more positive note Schanzenbrau in Gostenhof have produced a Helles Bock and also had a Schwarzbier on tap last night (very good too). The Altstadthof DunklerBock also slipped down very well.
