http://dict.leo.org/ende?lang=de&search=smokestack Smokestack is the name for the tall industrial chimneys. I thought "Kamin" == "fireplace" and "Schornstein" == "chimney". I guess the terminology's not quite so 'hard and fast'...not quite so 'cut and dry'. "Rauchen wie ein Schlot" wird am besten ohne die komische "-ing" Form übersetzt. "Although Frank smokes like a chimney, he is not smoking at this moment, because the children are here."
