Icy blasts!

When I was in Europe last week I saw the weather, and it looked like the low pressure area was rotating counterclockwise and pulling cold air down from Scandinavia into the UK. Here in New England, we call that kind of storm a "Northeaster" (or "Nor'easter") because that is the direction from which the wind blows in off the sea. Those storms are usually more severe.
