| I arrive in Dusseldorf yesterday by train from Bamberg. Got to the Ibis hotel about 5 pm. Soon set off for Koeln to visit Sebastian S. at Braustelle. Very nice brewpub! Good beer and good food! Still smoking there in part of the pub, though, surprisingly. Got back to Dusseldorf late (about 11 pm), and made it to Im Fuchschen in time for 2 glasses of Altbier. The Altstadt was quiet at midnight. More police that civilians on the street. What's up with that? A Vietnamese Imibiss shopkeeper told me that it is because for some reason the Germans are very worried about a terrorist attack. Not sure if that is true, but there was something on the tv news this morning about heightened security at the Bahnhof, etc. Off to my Dusseldorf Altbier tour shortly. |
