| No. For some months I have asked the female part of the family of the owner of Friedl's Kreuzbergkeller, if their "Schlotfegerla" is brewed after the receipt of Weyermann. Proudly she said no. After trying the Friedl's "Schlotfegerla" I have wished they had used the receipt of Weyermann. IMO Weyermann's "Schlotfegerla" tastes better (but there are other opinions). The problem is that Weyermann allow using some of their receipts, p.e. they have published the receipt of the "Schlotfegerla": http://www.weyermann.de/ger/hr.asp?go=detailrz&idrz=1&umenue=yes&idmenue=7&sprache=1 (But they have also receipts which they have developed for special breweries and these receipts are secret). Now they have changed the commentarial text and say that the name is protected and each brewer who wants to use it, has to ask before: "Wir wünschen viel Spaß beim Nachbrauen, beachten Sie jedoch bei aller Begeisterung fürs Brauen, dass der Name "Schlotfegerla®" von Weyermann® geschützt ist und nur mit unserer Zustimmung verwendet werden darf!" |
