| Bill, I'm guessing you drilled down into this site's existing top-10 lists, which are found if you go to the Home page and scroll down a bit. If not, there are a lot of good recommendations there. Also, note that how you get there is important - will you be using public transport? Or will you be driving or bicycling out somewhere and making a night of it at a place with lodging? Or will you combine some hiking (weather permitting) with public transport? Jan already proposed some good places accessibly by bus (and I'd go ahead and add Höhn in Memmelsdorf if you're stopping in at Drei Kronen). The train will get you to places like Hirschaid and Forchheim, just to mention a couple. So part of the answer here is dependent on how you're getting around. What are your transport options? |
