Hi Bill - the walking bit is really straightforward, it's more a question of co-ordinating the public transport. To get a decent day, I would probably get the 904 out to Hallstadt, say mid-morning (the bus stops at Stadtmitte, a couple of hundred metres before the Goldene Lowen/Faessla). Have a couple of seidlas, then walk across the Main Bridge to Eichorn for lunch. Walk will take you 20 minutes. After lunch, walk to Kemmern via the cycle track, because the wood walk is fairly tricky, especially at this time of the year (you will see the cycle track branching off to the right just before you cross the Bridge going out to Eichorn - for which you carry straight on once you have crossed the river Main). (In Kemmern, there is also another pub, whose name escapes me). It#s really just a question of co-oridnating pub opening and ruhetag with public transport. Eichorn opens daily from 09.00. It closes on Thursdays at 19.00 and Saturdays at 20.00 (strange but true). It's ruhetag is Monday. Very nice pils and lager at good price!
