Real ale tradition

True. On my last visit to the US west coast (2009) it worked out very well, some brewpubs offered some of their beers both on handpump and on keg (where in other cases there was a choice of CO2-keg or nitro - other beer styles, usually a stout or porter). Depending on the beer style it works out well (or not), it also depends on whether the brewery has any clue about what they are doing with which beer styles.
