If it ain't *my* beer, it ain't going to work! I don't know if it's a legal requirement to be a trained Brauer (with the three year apprenticeship, testing, and all) to make beer that is then to be sold to the public. I don't know if you have to be a trained cook in order to cook in a restaurant. Etc., etc., etc. I know that to call yourself a "Brauer", you must have completed the training. Fine, I agree with this and see its value. But if I say that "I make ale" instead of "ich *braue* *Bier*", then maybe I can call myself an "Ale Macher", a "profession" which is not protected like "Bierbrauer" is. If you follow me. And my personal dream "pub" would only be open a few hours a day, from afternoon to early evening. An after-work place, with no other alcohol served, just my warm, flat, non-Reinheitsgebot ale(s). No food served, either. No one would be allowed to get drunk, nor could they, really. And brass is verboten now? What's the story? |
