I've had the bottled Anno 1627 (?) a couple of times. I could only drink a bit of it, and have had to dump out the rest. This is because I was told it was a "Dunkel", or regular dunkles Lagerbier, and the fuitiness, sweetness (residual sugars), cloudiness and even sourness made me suspect massive problems in the brewing process for what should be a clean, clear beer. Interesting to read that it appears to be some sort of Weizen/Roggenbier hybrid. I'll have to try it again. The 1 liter swingtop bottles are very nice though, with scarcely a label; they will serve nicely when I start brewing at home again. Good luck finding info about them on the web though, this is all I've found: http://www.bier1.de/BrauhausRothenburgAnno1631.htm As always, his descriptions are way, way over the top. Please don't tell me the brewery consists of an old washing machine! |
