It certainly wasn't the beer, it was a definitely swine in agony. At that time Lindenbräu had their own "Hausschlacht" (as some breweries still have, like for instance also Grasser in Huppendorf). Not sure if Lindenbräu stiull does their "Hausschlacht", but I wouldn't be surprised. Probably there are still more breweries who do that (Mühlenbräu in Mühlendorf comes to mind as well).
