Bahncard woes

I would imagine your bank could help. Or maybe they'll take a check in USD? Regarding the differences between payment methods in the US and the Bundesrepublik. I'm going to have some freckles and birthmarks (Fleckchen & Muttermale) checked by a dermatologist (Hautarzt) someday soon. I want to walk in and ask the receptionist for an appointment, and when he/she asks for my insurance card, I'll say, "no thanks, I want to pay in cash". Just to see their reaction. See, *everyone* has insurance here, and *no one* pays for doctor & dentist visits other than by insurance. People here are astonished to hear that I used to pay my dentist by credit card in "die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika". (Well, okay, maybe not *everyone*, but probably 99% of the population are insured.)
