The brewery is gone but the pub and hotel is still there. That is actually quite common -- for whatever reason -- age of brewer, age of equipment, etc -- they decide it is more cost effect to buy the beer than brew it. It makes tracking down who actually brews quite difficult as they don't remove "Brauerei" from the name. It also doesn't mean the beer is bad -- sometimes the beer is actually better :) It's not unique to Germany -- I can't tell you how many American "brewpubs" I have been in that had no sign of brewing anywhere.
