OT: Baroque churches of Bavaria |

| I'm back from lurking the past couple years. I'm planning my 4th trip to Bamberg for Sept 2 to Sept 6, then to Regensberg and Munich. More on that later as I think through the itinerary. But I went to Vierzehnheiligen in Dec 2005 by train and then bus. All fine, except I got there slightly before a late morning mass commenced so instead of seeing the church first I wound up in the Trunk pub drinking at 11AM and having a light lunch before my church visit. And since it was bock seaon I may have seen more than 14 angels when I finally got to the church. Leaving, I headed to the bus stop early for some reason which turned out to be a good idea as the bus arrived 15 minutes early....or it was an unlisted bus. Either way, I took it. I can speak some German but didn't feel like interrogating the driver to see if the bus was early or simply not listed on the timetable. Mike |
