Kommunbrauhäuser

Interesting. I've been to a couple of the Kommunbrauhäuser on the list. One I got to watch them brew on an 1890's Kaspar Schulz system (still called the "new brew house"). They brewed 4-5 times a year (successive Saturdays in March). One week in the primary and then into individual barrels for lagering. The Untergreuth Hausbräu I've heard about (and tasted some), but I didn't realize so many other breweries did it (you basically bring your own barrel and fill it up with very young beer at "wholesale" prices)
