Nick - if it's beer that ypu're interested in, skip the 'Pool' and head for Manchester. Liverpool is a relative beer desert compared to Mamchester, which has half a dozen real ale breweries and dozens of real ale pubs. It's also the birthplace of the industrial revolution and, by chance, my birthplace too!
