Bamberg/Forchheim Kellers/Kreuzberg Kellers Food

More generally - as you've already seen - food isn't much of an issue at the kellers, except for a possible "dead" period in mid-afternoon when there isn't much being served. Sometimes, the kitchen operates "durchgehend" - continuously, so there's not much of a problem. Sometimes, the "dead" period just means cold food, so that plate of ham or cold cuts or obatzda is all that's on offer (aw gee). Service in the Bamberg places varies a bit, but continuous food service is not uncommon; for instance, Schlenkerla serves a couple of things for Frühschoppen, before the noon hour kicks in; then, the Mittags- and Brotzeitkarten are available from noon and 2:30pm, respectively, and there's usually always something to eat until the end of food service at 10pm. Going hungry was not something that was part of the Franconia experience. And if you're looking for variety outside of the usual Franconian assortment, Cafe Abseits does a pretty good job of that, from breakfast through dinnertime; in the evenings, they start serving pizza at 6:30pm.
