| Well, back in the office. Now here's my report: The 'Festhalle Vestenberg' (right behind the brewery) was absolutely crowded. Talking to lots of people, everybody was curious about the beer made by new brewmaster Mario Rebhan. Mario certainly does a great job. He has always been a big admirer of Vestenberger Bier. On tap was: Dunkles Export, Helles Export, Helles Vollbier and Pils, all newly brewed. Now the important thing: Yes! The new brewer managed to brew real Vestenberger Bier! All sorts tasted 99% as they did before, only the Pils seemed to be a little bit hoppier. But well, I was nearly steaming when I tried it, so might be mistaken. He also did guided brewery tours. I can't remember my way home, so the beer must have been excellent. My personal statement: Mario Rebahn taking over as the new brewmaster was the best thing to happen to my favourite brewery. His skills are good enough to brew the Vestenberger sorts without changing the unique taste of them. I hope, everybody of you are going to visit the brewery and to support it by drinking a couple of Seidli. Jürgen |
