Prague?

Once you get west of Pilzen, the train is pretty slow. The bus would be faster for your trip. The buses between major towns are usually modern coaches. Personally, I would do your trip in two legs, with a stopover in Pilzen. Then get the train to Prague next morning. Nearly 5 hours on a coach sounds a bit much, unless it's an overnight journey. When you get to Prague, hop on a tram and get out of centre now and then. The centre has some great pubs, but neighbourhoods such as Zizkov, scruffy yet quite safe, have loads of watering holes where you won't get ripped off.
