Hi Barry. Dan and I usually stay at the Hotel Flandria (Barrestraat 3) when we go to Ghent. It isn't a luxury hotel, but it is well placed and priced with en suite WC and breakfast included. Can't really add any pubs that Tim Webb hasn't detailed in his book. Aba Jour (Oudburg 20) is a good affordable restaurant with a nice beer list that we enjoy. If you give me your email address I can send you a handy map that I made that has most of the good bars and the hotel I mentioned marked on it. Have a great time in Ghent! P.S.
