Ideas for a trip to Bamberg & Franconia

If the weather's nice, some Bierkeller(s) may even be open, most assuredly the 3 (or at least 2 of the 3) up on the Kreuzberg west of Eggolsheim. Search the archive here for countless discussions of the place and how to get to it, as well as the "how to get there wiki" link on this site. The new brewpub up there is possibly the best new, modern brewery within hundreds of km, the only one which can brew interesting beers other than murky, unfinished dreck like you get at Barfüßer. Bussing is more difficult on weekends, of course, but there is also the Anrufsammeltaxi service in Forchheimer land which can get you to & from many of the breweries in the country.
