not even trying to be comprehensive: Bamberg, Dortmund, Kulmbach, Oelde, Windesheim (open air/heritage museum including Kommunbrauhaus + various on hops/hop growing), Gräfenberg, Bad Schussenried (Bierkrugmusem), Bayreuth (connected with Maisel), Rechenberg, Lüneburg, Neumarkt Obpf (connected with Glossner), Beilngries, Irsee, Alpirsbach, Berlin, ... I seem to recall also something like a Weizenbierglasmuseum. Also related: Hopfenmuseum (Tettnang). And if you would search for it, you'd problaby also stumble over one or more maltings museums. Add to that the fact some breweries are a true living museum (like Schmitt-Bräu in Singen/Thuringen). And indeed sometimes the visitors centre of a big brewery also incorporates some sort of museum. The Kulmbach one could be regarded as such. Non-German examples would include Stiegl (Salzburg/Austria), Heineken Experience (Amsterdam/NL), Plzen(CZ) and the (IIRC now sadly closed) former Bass Brewery Museum (/Coors visitors centre in Burton UK). Tucker's Maltings (IIRC also a museum) anyone? |
