Pottenstein area recommendations

Well, all the breweries that i have mentioned are located in small, wonderful hamlets with poor, very poor or absent public transport. Sorry, but in the enthusiasm i forget that in the first post it is stated that you are going to move with public transport. I'm used to base myself in one of the few Prüllsbirkig's (a very small rural hamlet 2 kms outside Pottenstein) Ferienwohnung (e.g http://www.arnold-h.de/Ferienwohnung/ferienwohnung.html) but having a car for reach the beer-area and a bike for move from a brewery to the other it's quite different. Yes, Pottenstein is lovely and you have 2 breweries in the village. The only problem is that "most" of the buses for the main area (North of Ebermannstadt/North-west of Pottenstein) leave from Ebermannstadt. You have to ceck if there is a decent bus service from Pottenstein to Ebermannstadt. Have a look here: http://www.franconiabeerguide.com/map.asp?Region=Bayreuth. 1,2,18,21 have very poor public transport (for exemple you have only one bus a day (in the evening) from Pegnitz to Leups) Not really better for the area around Aufsess and Waischenfeld: here you have about 2 buses (or one) a day from Ebermannstadt to 13,10,11,12,8,9,22 and no buses for Breitenlesau (7)...but when you have to come back to Ebermannstadt/Pottenstein things gets complicated. From Pottenstein to Aufsess (10) there are 24 Km. From Pottenstein to Waischenfeld (9) there are 12 Km. From Pottenstein to Lindenhardt (18) there are 15 Km. If for you it's not a problem to ride on a bike for 30-40 Km in a day, the best way (if not the only) is to rent a bike in Pottenstein (ceck if it is possible) and to pedal on the wonderful hills. Best, Sergio.
