Bamberg parking

I can speak from experience when I tell you if you see a car park or open spot in the Altstadt, park there and pay what it costs! We were on short time in Bamberg and stayed at Wilde Rose last August. Great location, no parking. With two of the three bridges closed it took us an hour to find the garage that they recommended. (Lot of one-way streets). Before leaving the next day, we tried to find a space closer to the Monastery & Dom so that we could tour that side. Ended up wasting another hour and then ended up parking back even further just so we could get out and walk. The parking garage on Schützenstraße is the cheapest (~ 8 Euro/day).
