Here is one definition from Merchant du Vin website: "Crisp A desirable feature in Weiss beers and pils; firm, refreshing, positive acidity." http://www.merchantduvin.com/pages/2_ale_university/aleu_bt_glossary.html To me, "crisp beer" means that it is dry with good carbonation and that there is no lingering sweetness or strong flavor left on the tongue after a sip. I usually think of lagers such as Pils as crisp. A softer lager like "U" would be less crisp to me. Crisp and hoppy do not always go together. |
