ICE Schedules

Information in English is available on the DB-website: http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/home/info/ice_t.shtml I witnessed some Ersatz-ICE's on the line (Berlin - Leipzig - Jena) - Lichtenfels - Bamberg - Erlangen - Nürnberg (- München). They are usually IC-carriages sandwiched between two class 101 engines. As these sets are capable of 200 kph there is no big effect on the timetables north of Nuremberg, but they cannot keep up with ICE's south from there, so they might run via Augsburg instead of Ingolstadt. In fact I personally prefer IC above ICE, as you have the same comfort (leg space and so), but a better vieuw: larger windows, and no seats where you are staring at the wall!
