Polish Beer in Bamberg |

Tonight I made a surprising discovery: Polish beer in Bamberg! I found it in a restaurant called 'Rusaca' (an acronym of the operators), only a few hundred meters from Café Abseits in the Poedeldorfer Strasse. The Polish Beer is called 'Tyskie Pils'. As a Pils, first of all it's hoppy, but this spezies also has an hardly describable touch of a Franconian Maerzen, which makes it excellent. Wort is 11.7%, alcohol 5,8%. While Pils beers don't count as my favorite beers, this Tyskie Pils reconciles me with the whole genus. The half liter bottle is 2.60 Euro, but to me it was worth every cent. On draft they have Kulmbacher Pils and Weissbier. Meals are inexpensive (and you Schnitzel lovers will be in Schnitzel heaven). The patron is a very nice guy. I feel it's worth to give it a try, if you want to expand your beer experience. Best wishes Gerd |
