| We finally received our shipment of Weissenohe "Monk's Fest" Marzen, known in Franconia as the Eucharies Marzen. It, along with Monchshof (Kulmbacher Fest) Fest Bier arrived just in time for our annual Oktoberfest. We poured 14 kegs of Mochshof Fest and 6 kegs of the Monk's Fest. Both were very well received by the crowd. It was very exciting to be probably the first place in the US to tap these beers. According to Shelton Bros, only about 100 kegs of Monk's Fest made it to the US and Omaha got 40 of them. We also got about 30 cases of bottles of the Monk's Fest in 1/2 liter swing tops. We will even ship the beer accross the US. The beer retails for $3.29 a bottle and if anyone is interested go to www.beercornerusa.com. Apparently there may be more brews coming from Weissenohe in the future as well as other Franconian brews. Exciting news for us in the USA. |
