There is also a new (?) Bayernticket option--it costs 10 € for a single person, and is good for travel up to 50 km, provided travel begins or ends OUTside a mass transit area like the Nürnberger transit area NVG. Details in this brochure: http://tinyurl.com/bayernticket There are supposedly precious few bus lines for which the Bayernticket AIN'T good, supposedly ones that run to places outside the country, like Austria and the Czech Republic, I suppose.
