After a few brewery visits here in the Confederatio Helvetica, I am very frequently remembered of Bamberg. Why? Because either the brewing equipment comes from Kaspar Schulz, or more often the malts come from Weyermann, or both. And I just tasted a Rauchbier by Kündig-Bräu, Rietheim, Kanton Aargau. It's located in the village of Rietheim, east of Koblenz, Switzerland, not far from the Rhine (which by the way should be called Aare). A beautiful brewhouse from K.S., and malts from W. The beer remembered me of the Spezial Märzen. Jan |
