Frank Wetzel -- the man who publishes the CD -- updates it three or four times a year. I would wait until much closer to your trip (like a year from now or so) before purchasing the CD. Country breweries are notorious for changing hours and closure days at the drop of a hat. Another issue that many of the country breweries around Bamberg will take holidays in late August/early September. I found this out the hard way last year when my father and I did a some bike rides in the Bamberg area. I think our luck ran about 50% -- probably good for the bike riding but not so good for the beer tourist :) In anycase, I would plan on calling to make sure places are open before embarking on a visit. The "Beer Drinker's Guide" basically just covers Bamberg -- have to update with the news of Maisel :( There is a mention of places that are easy to reach by bike or train, but not a lot of details on days and hours of operation. It's more "these are some places to think about" What I do is "pencil in" some ideas of what to do on what day, but I have a Plan B or even a Plan C in mind. After all, this is Franconia, not Prussia :)
