Regensburg is well worth a visit for the beer tourist IMHO. Spital and Kneitinger are good. I was also very impressed by the Weissbierhaus & Furstlich (formerly T &T) brewpubs. Plus there are a few great pubs and even a Munchen Hofbrauhaus where they served marzen from the wood. Amberg also has several breweries within a very peaceful, small, walkable town. Don't miss the fried potatoes at the Theatre cafe. Superb. They also have guest beers at this place. Mike
