Bergkirchweih in Erlangen...the beers

I thought I posted something Tuesday, after my Monday visit to the Berg. Guess it didn't work. Anyway, it turns out that the Keller pouring Kundmüller (yes, the Kundmüller one you hauled Arsch to by bike!) isn't necessarily run by Kundmüller, but that's no matter. There's no festbier, rather, Lager, Weizen, and Rauchbier. And by the Seidla as well as the Maß. I had a Rauchbier. Luckily AFTER I'd also had a Mönschshofer Festbier (big Kulmbacher brauerei) which was OK, but too sweeeet by the end of the Maß. The people I was supposed to meet at 18.00 (same group as my previous visit) didn't show up until after 20.00 (they are South Americans, you see, where Pünktlichkeit means something other than it does in Pünktlich Deutschland), and I had to head home at 20.15. I'd ended up at the far east end of the Fest, where I'd parked my bike, and by that time, the fest was clogged with people. http://i31.tinypic.com/2ihuf7k.jpg So I've got my own Kundmüller Krug for next year, as I wasn't going to slog a half km through that crowd and back just to get my 5€ Pfand back; this photo was sent to the little woman to prove that I was indeed on my way home to dinner/supper/Abendessen: http://i30.tinypic.com/2z5k9x3.jpg Yeah, it's nice, especially if you like big fests. Worth planning a trip around though...still not sure. If you're coming in May, then absolutely plan to go to "the Berg"!
