The Keller is open Sundays, and is highly worth visiting. The Gaststätte is also nice, and sitting outside is especially so. We just made our first visits to the Keller this last year, and it immediately became one of our absolute favorites. Not least because of the quality of the Landbier, available only at the Keller vom Fass: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j175/erlangernick/schlammersdorf/DSCN4567kl.jpg (only in the bottle at the Gaststätte) but also because the place is just lovely: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j175/erlangernick/schlammersdorf/DSCN4570kl.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j175/erlangernick/schlammersdorf/DSCN4575kl.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j175/erlangernick/schlammersdorf/DSCN4573kl.jpg (garden bowling!) http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j175/erlangernick/schlammersdorf/DSCN4578kl.jpg (popular with the local volunteer firemen) So seriously, I'd recommend a Sunday visit to the Keller over a visit to the Gaststätte. The Lager in the Gaststätte is just not as special (simple gas-keg-pour) as the Landbier at the Keller ("bayerischer Anstich", gravity pour). And the owners are so great. |
