Oh yeah!

Spezial closes for the last week of august (and the first of september) so this year they might be closed from the 24th. (I was in Bamberg in august 2006 and then they closed from the 20th !). Another that comes to mind is Müller in Debring (Stegaurach), last year it was closed around Maria Himmelfahrt (august 15 - a holiday in Bayern). Some of the Gasthöfe mention their holiday on their websites, but not all and not always, and quite a lot do not have websites. So if you want to go somewhere in particular without having an alternative close by, be sure to check opening times beforehand.
