Nonsmoking in Bamberg

V. good question! May have to wander up there to check it out in person. AFA the smoking clubs goes, this is indeed a loophole in the new Bavarian law. Smoking is not prohibited in private clubs, or when a place is rented for a private function. What exactly constitues a "club" though, is not clear to moi. The owner of a Kneipe in Erlangen ("Star Club") plans to convert his place into a club. He claimed in the paper this weekend that he has no non-smoking customers. I guess the little woman & I didn't count when we went in there in the past. The better Irish pub in town here has been smokefree now for 3 weeks. We spent an evening there last week, and we stank when we came out--the place is permanently smoked up!
