Bus 231 does indeed run from Ebermannstadt to Breitenlesau on weekdays, though it's not a short ride, at 47 minutes. And it's the schoolbus, so you'll have to pack in with a bunch of rowdy Kinder. And you'd have to wait for the kids at the school for 12 mintues, during which you can chat with the driver if you can discern his Fränkisch, while he takes his smoke break...but the route it takes is a pretty one. The early morning one is the only one running FROM Breitenlesau, true, and I assume it's also a schoolbus. It's possible, though, that one could use the "Anrufsammeltaxi" service, which means you can have a taxi collect you at a bus stop at a specific time outside the bus' normal schedule. You ask the driver to call it in for you, or you call it in yourself, but well in advance. And I'm not sure how much it would cost, but I think more than a bus ride, and less than a normal taxi fare. I'll look into this. Frühstück included, of course. Walk the 9 km to Heiligenstadt and bus from there to Ebermannstadt or direct to Bamberg. The brewery is a charmer, worth experiencing, even if the beer is less than amazing. Hopping off the 8235 at Oberleinleiter (Br.
