Trains & TV

So the months-long conflict between train driver's union and Die Bahn seems to be resolved, as the union announced that they will accept a deal reached over the weekend. Train drivers will get a one-time 800€ payment, an 8% raise from March (US: "starting in March"), followed by a further 3% raise sometime later in the year. And the workweek will be shortened from 41 to 40 hours. And the drivers will get their own contract, seperate from other labo(u)r groups(?). So, no further strikes are expected. I'll be happy to know that the guy driving me 300 kph down the track is not so likely to be disgruntled over his pay. And the culinary TV series "Zu Tisch in..." ("At the Table in...") will feature the Spalt region on Sunday & next Saturday: http://www.arte.tv/de/wissen-entdeckung/zu-tisch-in/1888378.html Usually the show features a family or other group of people in a region of Europe, following them through a day in their lives, including cooking and eating. This episode will apparently feature a hop farmer or something. The "Hopfenblodersalat" listed on the menü does not actually contain hop shoots, rather, cucumbers.
