In England there is a similar tradition,although it has no name.In fact it just sort of happens without the customer or barperson saying anything! if you are a good/regular customer and at the end of the evening you have maybe just a small amount left in your pint pot,and you ask for a half for the road,the barperson will fill,or almost fill your glass for the price of a half pint. sort of a free schnit!
