IIRC there has been a period when Gose was not called a "bier". As was also the case for the products from Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle - they called their beer something like "malt beverage" or something similar. Neuzelle is however now (since 2005) allowed to call their malt liquors a "bier" in Germany, including their Kirsch Bier (as I learned from their website http://www.klosterbrauerei.com). They also do something using molasses and/or invert sugar sirup. Don't know where their bathfoam (badebier) comes in however. |
