December 07 Bamberg tentative plans |

| I think I have a plan for December. I will fly into Frankfurt and take the train to Bamberg arriving on either December 6 or 7. I will use Bamberg as a base and go to Coburg, Buttenheim, and possibly Nürnberg or possibly Bayreuth (I travel for both beer and history). I'll also try to spend least part of one day taking local bosses to some smaller towns simply to drink. Then on Tuesday Dec 11th, I will go to Mainz and use that as a base for day trips to Worms and Speyer. All three towns have at least one brewpub/brewery tavern and they all have cathedrals. Finally, part of my job includes being a rare book librarian so visiting the Gutenberg Museum would probably be a good idea. Then on Friday, December 14 I will head to Antwerp which I will use as a base for the Kerstbierfestival in Essen. If anybody is planning to be in Bamberg (or Mainz) when I am there, please let me know and we will have a few liters. I will be checking in from time to time with some specific questions. Mike |
